We have decided to close the Niwot Farmers’ Market effective immediately.
Our mission is to encourage new farmers and new product enterprises through participation and exposure at hometown farmers’ markets. Include local farms and favored products and we have the beginnings of a serious endeavor.
Every business needs their local community and we have enjoyed this support at each market. There were regular attendees, people we know by name, people who thanked us for being there. However, due to a variety of circumstances, many vendors were not able to attend regularly. Most recently there has been only half present and it has been a death sentence for such a small market in a small town.
Our ambitions were to create a sustainable community experience - a weekly event with lots of local participation, creating an environment vendors want to be a part of.
That spirit is still in Niwot with events like Nastalgia Days, 4th of July, Chili Cook Off, and the Lobster Bash, to name a few.
If there is something missing from your small town experience, please tell your local business association. You can make a difference – and that can make it happen.
Then we all need to show up.
Thank you to everyone who shopped at the Niwot Farmers’ Market. I invite you to join us at the Lafayette Market on Thursdays from 3:30pm-8pm and Erie on Saturdays from 8:30am-1pm.
See you there!
